Feeding Instructions

The chart below shows the approximate daily ration recommended for average adult dogs' maintenance.  Increase amounts as noted for working and active dogs.   You can feed once a day or divide the portion into two or more feedings.   Remember to provide plenty of clean, fresh water.  When changing to Kasco Hi-Energy Dog Food, begin by mixing it with the food you were feeding.  Over the course of a week, give your dog more Kasco and less of the other to make a smooth, full transition.  Kasco Hi-Energy Dog Food is complete and balanced and therefore no supplementation is necessary.  For your pet's health, visit your veterinarian regularly.

  • Moderate Work: Dogs working at a medium rate will consume about twice the amount of normal maintenance.

  • Hard Work: Dogs doing demanding work will require three times the normal energy amounts.  Feed at least twice daily.

  • Pregnant Bitches: Feed 50% more during last three weeks of gestation.

  • Lactating Bitches: Feed two to three times normal amounts.

  • Puppies: Feed as much as they want to eat, preferably moistened.   Feed three times daily until six months old, then twice daily until nine months old.

This is only a guide.  Feeding amounts may vary with age, temperament, activity level and environment.  Your care and observation in feeding are very important in helping you understand your dogs' specific energy needs.
